The government of Euskadi calls for the withdrawal of spanish police/guardia civil

According to naiz, the government of Euskadi (Bizkaia, Araba and Gipuzkoa) will ask to the spanish government the withdrawal of spanish police and "Guardia Civil" (spanish military police). According to them, it seems that ETA is not going to attack again and ETA structures seems to dissolve. Besides, they have said that spanish forces should now withdrawal. They have also added that the special unit of counter-terrorism of Ertzaintza (basque regional police) now will head to the "new terrorists threatens and delinquency". In addition, for them, one of the consequences of the ETA activity has been that Ertzaintza
has been more focused on self-protection.


In south basque country there are 5 kind of police: Ertzaintza (Basque regional police), Policia Foral (Nafarroa regional police), Policia Nacional (Spanish police), Guardia civil (spanish military police) and local police. Withouth including secret services, bodyguards etc.
