Basque Country division

The basque country is dominated by spanish and french state.

North basque country ("iparralde" in basque) is controlated by french state: Zuberoa, Lapurdi and Behe Nafarroa. They do not have own institution (french state is very centralist, they concentrate all power in Paris). Iparralde do not have industry and the population is small.

South basque country ("hegoalde" in basque) is controlated by spanish state: Nafarroa, Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia eta Araba. Hegoalde is subdivided in two institutions: Euskadi (Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia and Araba) and Nafarroa. These institutions have the management control of some powers, but this powers are condicionated by spanish constitution.

Hegoalde is subdivided in two autonomous community's. Basque Autonomous Community (BAC) or Euskadi: Bizkaia, Araba and Gipuzkoa. Chartered Community of Navarre is composed by Navarre (biggest province of basque country).
