Riots during the basque selection football match

On 29 of December, the Basque national football team ("Euskal Herriko selekzioa") and Bolivian national football team played a football match in Anoeta (Donosti, Gipuzkoa south basque country). The supporters were showing banners in support of basque political prisoners and the independence of basque country.

According to different media, some groups of basque supporters started throwing flares in the stadium. After some minutes, the special anti-riot group of Ertzaintza (basque regional police) attacked them using batons.

People throwed against them chairs and firecrackers. According to the basque regional police, 14 policemen were injured (two of them with bone fractures) and 2 young were arrested. There are no official data about the people that were injured during the riots, but there were at least two young with head injuries.

Basque regional government have announced an investigation about the incidents. PP (a right-wing spanish political party) have critized strongly the security of the football match and they have used the incidents to critize also Bildu (a basque coalition of pro-independence and leftist political parties).
