| Ekaitz De Ibero arrested |
According to
naiz, the basque militant Ekaitz De Ibero was arrested yesterday by Ertzaintza (basque regional police) in Donosti (Gipuzkoa south basque country). Ekaitz De Ibero
decided some weeks ago to desobey spanish authorities orders and he not surrendered to police. He is accused of being member of Segi (a basque pro-independence and socialist young organization) and with other militants Segi militants he is being persecuted by spanish/french authorities.
This week, he decided to participate in the "Aske Gunea-Free Area" of Donosti, where hundreds of people offered their protection to him. They also made a campaign of information with persecuted people's situation. Yesterday Ertzaintza appeared and attacked the people that was protecting Ekaitz. There were injured people (some of them were moved to the hospital) and material damages. Ertzaintza also appeared in the hospital with the intention of identifing people. The
other young that are persecuted were supported by hundreds of people to return to their homes.
